Kids and Moms of Pikes Peak/ Colorado Springs (KAMPP) is
more than just a playgroup. This group is meant to connect moms and their children with others; to help members build connections in the community, make friends, and gain a support system. Our aim is to
build relationships through face-to-face activities, and to provide online
supportas a supplementary means of keeping in contact with one another. This is an active participation group - our members attend the many different types of activities we offer, whether they're playgroups in other member's homes, meet-ups at local playgrounds, trips to the zoo, Mom's Nights Out, or anything in between.
Our goal is to become a strong group of women who not only interact with each other, but
reach out as a group to the
community. Remaining flexible and allowing our members to determine their own schedules are just a couple of ways we attain that goal. While we do not have set times and days of the week for in-home playgroups, our members offer their time and homes when their schedule allows. Some members host playgroups regularly in their homes; others "host" meet-ups at public locations around town. Because this is a
member-based and run group, we survive only when our members are actively involved in the running and planning of the group. If the events being offered don't work for our members' schedules, we encourage and invite them to set something up at a time that does.
We encourage anyone who is looking for "more than just a playgroup" to join KAMPP. If you want a group with
flexible and varying schedules, a group that offers events for kids and their moms, and just for moms, a group that requires active participation from all its members, then we might be
the group you're looking for. We look forward to meeting new members and making new and wonderful
connections and friendships for all of our members and their children.
Thanks so much for your interest in KAMPP, and we hope you decide to join our wonderful group of moms and kids!
