The mission of a Toastmaster Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

KC Downtown Toastmasters Club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month to present and evaluate prepared speeches, practice impromptu speaking, and lift each other up through constructive ideas and edification.

    Born and raised in Northwest Haiti, Idalbert has lived in Kansas City for years. Before founding GHS,, Idalbert worked as a Pathfinder at Children's Mercy Hospital, where he helped patients, families, and visitors find their way and delivered flowers and gifts. Idalbert teaches Haitian Creole classes at UMKC's Communiversity program and serves as the Haiti commissioner for the Ethnic Enrichment Commission - Kansas City. He is also passionate about improving the quality of life and education for Haitians back in his homeland. He looks forward to seeing the organization continue to grow.
