The Avengers Premiere

In honor of the release of the Avengers movie, we will be having Dinner and a Show at the Plaza (not necessarily in that order).  Come for one or both!  I propose we see the movie first, since that's of a more predictable length, then move on to P.F. Chang's, but nothing is set in stone yet.

I'm down at the Plaza right now. What time do we want to meet at the theater? 6:30?

6:5 it is then. I'll buy my ticket now.

Out of necessity of convenience, it sounds like the 3D show at 6:55 is the best option. Given traffic, lines to get into the theater, and a 5:00 meeting this Friday, 5:50 is cutting it too close. As an aside, the movie is 2hr22m long. Everyone might feel better if they grab a snack before the movie.

Yep, I'm ambivalent over 3D/2D. I haven't seen it really add much to most of the movies it is used in, but when done well, it isn't bad.

Of the times Ajanta listed, I think the 18:55 (6:55PM) 3D, or 17:50 (5:50PM) 2D; are probably the best.

    I'm happy either way.

I strongly prefer 2D. The glasses annoy me and it has yet to be worth the extra money.

Who's up for seeing The Avengers in 3D?

I say the sooner, the better. Showtimes for Real 3D Friday are: 1855; 2000; 2210. Regular digital showtimes are at 1750 and 2105. Which showtime are we looking at?

Do we need to get our tickets tonight or earlier?

I vote we see the movie first, have popcorn and the usual movie junk. Then we can go out, eat food, and recap the awesomeness of the previous 142 minutes of "The Avengers".

This is a free event in so far as we won't charge anybody to attend. You will have to pay for your theater ticket and meal, of course.

Since we still have a couple of weeks to go, I'm taking votes on whether to eat first or see the movie first. The Avengers has a run time of 142 minutes, so if we go to a 7:00 screening, it would be about 9:30 before dinner. The upshot of that is the restaurants might be less crowded by then. I, for one, would not rule out an earlier start time. What does everybody else think?

Since I can think of at least one more interested party, I'll go ahead and make it an event.

Yes, totally! Dinner before the show or after? Do you think we should try to actively get more people to join up? I'm super excited for this movie...literally marking the days off my calendar. Pretty sure I'm setting myself up for disappointment! Ha.

What would you say to making this a dinner and a show at the Cinemark on the Plaza?
