Many of us think of leotards and goofy poses when we hear "yoga", but the truth is that it's a great workout and something fun to do with friends (plus, we often go out to eat for lunch right after - gotta reclaim some of those lost calories!).
Classes are $5 each, with an optional mat rental for $1. Please get there at 9:45 or earlier (their doors open at 9:30) as the classes get quite crowded and, if you get there any later, you're not guaranteed to get a spot in the class. Classes officially start at 10:00 AM.
Come dressed in comfortable workout clothes - yoga pants (if you're self-confident enough), gym shorts, a gym-appropriate shirt. Bring a towel and/or an extra shirt, as they keep the room between 80 and 85 degrees and, when you're doing these exercises with about 30 or 40 other people in the room, you will get very hot and very sweaty. Consider bringing a water bottle to drink afterward, and make sure you come to the class well-hydrated.
Please treat this as being a guest, because we are. The classes are conducted not only as a physical exercise but also a lifestyle exercise, which means that there is some Hindu praying at the beginning and end and "oneness with the universe/mind and body are one" mentality scattered throughout the lessons. It's fairly easy to get past, but please be respectful of the fact that this is how the instructors wish to conduct the class. If you do not feel that you can get past the very brief prayers and mentality of the instruction, this may not be for you.
