Since we've already tried three of the establishments in the 83rd and Mission Rd shopping center, we might as well try them all! I'm a big fan of Mexican food, and I've never been to Salty Iguana, so let's give it a shot:
We had another great turnout last meetup, with 10 people showing up. It took a while to get a table, but we did manage to get one pretty close to the patio, and it was a beautiful night. We had a great conversation. The majority of the group was actually some flavor of libertarian, which was really exciting to me. Don't let that keep you non-libertarians (or even anti-libertarians!) away, though. We like a lively exchange of ideas, even ones we don't all agree on.
Freethinkers don't agree on everything, obviously. I think there is much to be gained from talking with people that disagree with you, even if no one changes their mind. On that note, I'd like to hear about things that good people disagree on. I'm not intending this to be a debate, just a brainstorming session of sorts. Maybe we can pick out topics for future meetings from it. A few examples that spring to mind are vegetarianism, etiquette, and climate change. Rational people have approached all of these topics, been given the same information, and made very different conclusions. What else do good people disagree on? Of course, these are just ideas. I like the free flow of ideas, so if the topic never comes up, I'm sure we'll be talking about something even MORE interesting, instead.
