I'm with PZ Myers on the subject.

IM glad the owner realized their mistake and has apologized.   But the fact it is when it is A-OK to be see someone out there who agrees with your general belief screaming how anyone who disagrees is going to hell, but are then offended by someone who has a differing view criticizing your belief system is  a massive piece of hypocrisy.

Meanwhile, the owner is going to see a surge in sales to the Christians who want to support the bigotry that was displayed for "only 10 minutes" and hopes to have the apology be accepted by everyone else so they dont avoid his ice cream.  Profit!

No I don't think that is the cynical thought process that led to the sign, I think few people "plot" to that degree, but I do believe that to be how it is likely to play out.  Causation is a funny thing.

I suppose this is a lesson that we should think rationally 'first' before we react.  One of our members, Chris, told me about this tonight and then when I get home I had this email from Greg.  Thanks Greg.
