Come on, do you really "love your neighbor?" - I bet you don't even know the names of the people living across the street from you. At some point you need to start living in the real world. Do you really "love" a person who is driving in the car in front, behind or to the side of you on I-35? Come on!
If not "love", they you have made up stuff and pretend to know what you don't know and infuse "love" with some other totally non sensical meanings. "God must have loved you before you knew it" is such a cop out.
What gives people in highly secular countries (Europe, Japan and including Canada) who don't have Jesus as motivation a reason to get up, go to work, do things, enjoy poetry, music, sunset, walk on the beach, etc. Jesus still motivates them through telepathic means and they are not aware of it or deliberately chose not to be aware? By what mechanism is Jesus exerting his unseen influence over them and how can it be tested?
Or using a very simple rule of parsimony, your Jesus was full of shit and a cult leader 2,000 years ago and though his cult enjoyed a rather spectacular rise, there is an inevitable fall in sight and more and more people don't need his fairy tales anymore to find "the motivation" and "treat others as you'd like to be treated yourself".
Why make it so complicated, Fred?
