Climb at Monster Mountain

Come join us for some indoor rock climbing here in Overland Park. Monster Mountain is at the back of Emerald City Gym. You can park in back and enter through the rear door. You can find more information at their website:

I (Todd) have other commitments for the next few months and so won't be able to come, but wanted to post these so others could coordinate their plans to climb.  If someone wants other days listed let me know and I'll edit the meetup.

You can print out and sign the legal paperwork before you come to save some time if you like:

For those who just want to try climbing at MM I would suggest:
On-Belay Climbing - $10.00 : Unlimited Climbing. Belayer and gear not included

Also, Monday nights are Half Price Nights for the climbing fee (so $5)! Tuesday is half price for Student Night and Thursday for Ladies Night.

Belay certification. In order to belay someone (act as their safety net while they climb) you will need to be certified (checked off) by one of Monster Mountain's staff. If you don't know already, you can take a Belay class or someone who knows how can teach you and then you can get certified. Class nights are listed on the calendar above.

Gear Rental Costs:

Harness - $3.00
Shoes - $3.00
Chalk-bag - $2.00
Gri-gri - $2.00
Rental Package (Harness, shoes, chalk bag & gri-gri) - $6.00

If you plan to do a lot of climbing you can get a membership:
5 Climb Punch Card - $38.00 : One punch per person per visit/day.
One Month - $48.00
Three Month - $120.00
One Month Family - $95

If you join the Kansas City Climbing Club ($20/year) you can get the Unlimited Monthly Membership for $38.

Post questions and I'll answer what I can.

I have to let the puppy out after work. I wouldn't be able to make it until about 6:30. Does that work?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
