  • Because or the weather, I am cancelling this outing.  It will be rescheduled on May 18. I hope to see you then.

I just talked to our tour guide and she said to meet at the Devil's Icebox/Rock Bridge parking lot.  Please arrive a little early so I can collect the fees in advance - exact change of $8 would be helpful.  Depending on the weather, we may eat our sack lunch either on the trail or in the park office.  Dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes.  I will have a cell phone on Saturday in case you get delayed -[masked]-3295.  This is not part of the outing, but afterwards some of us may go to "44 Stones" which is an interesting  pub near  Rock Bridge SP.  Get info & directions here -

Tour the Gans Creek Wild Area with a park naturalist.  On this Family Farm History Hike we will visit sites of cabins and view historical photos and hear readings about life in the late 1800's -early 1900's.  This will be a 3 mile hike on hilly terrain. Bring a drink and sack lunch to eat on the trail.  (Historic Site Tour $4 + $4 requested donation to Sierra Club.  Your donation will help fund a photo exhibit of Missouri's eight wilderness areas for the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act).

After the hike return to the park store to view a slideshow on the karst features of Rock Bridge followed by a short hike on boardwalk to Devil's Icebox Cave.

RSVP here (preferably) or by e-mailing me at [masked] or by phone at[masked]-7823. During the sign-in process all participants on Sierra Club outings are required to sign a standard liability waiver. If you would like to read the Liability Waiver before you choose to participate in an outing, please go to: .

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
