How to write a robust API. From speed, JSON response formatting, rate limiting, OAuth signing, etc.
Not at the moment. I hope to find people who need help with projects and go from there.
Google "Michael Hartl rails tutorial". Seriously. www.ruby-docs.org is fantastic as a Ruby reference, and api.rubyonrails.org is the place for Rails. Railscasts.com is the best $9/month you can spend on Ruby/Rails-related videos too. Last but not least, www.stackoverflow.com. How did people learn to code before that site existed?
It takes a long time before you feel like you've developed a foundation. Keep at it, ask a ton of questions, and don't refer to yourself as a noob, it only holds you back. We've all been there :)
Snow & Co. downtown is a fantastic chill spot for anything beer/fruity drink related, and Quay Coffee in the River Market is great for a latte, plus they have a big room with a table in back.
Ruby on Rails developer & instructor, insatiably curious, sushi lover, and world traveler who cries at wasted human potential. I really enjoy helping others learn, and I'd love to help Ruby & Rails spread through KC.
Awesome! I'm biased though...
