KCA Agility Practice

KCA Agility Practice KCA will offer practice at our agility field at the Watson’s. To be eligible, you must be a paid member and have had previous agility experience. On your first visit, your dog will be evaluated to make sure they are safe on the equipment. All your dog's vaccinations need to be current. If your records are not on file with KCA already, please bring a current copy of their records with you. Agility practice will be fun, we can set up the course in many different ways, choose to run the entire course, just run segments or even pick one particular obstacle to practice. Our objective is to help all our dogs and handlers fine tune their techniques. Everyone will help everyone else.

IF THE TEMPERATURE IS 96 DEGREES OR HIGHER, THE PRACTICE WILL BE CANCELED[/u]

I want to find a fun class for my dog. I can't remember what the difference is between rally and agility. Can someone please give a quick summary of those? Thanks!

Agility is the sport with the obstacles like jumps, weaves, tunnels and contacts like the teeter-totter, dog walk, etc. for the dog to perform. AKC Rally is a course with 15 to twenty signs. The team follows the numbered course and performs the behavior indicated on the sign. If you come visit this Saturday morning at our Monica St. Training Field, you can watch agility classes starting at 7am to 1030am and a Rally practice at 10am. AKC.org has great descriptions of both dog sports. New agility classes start on Sept. 14 and a Novice Rally class starts on October 16. Both are on the KCA Calendar.
