To find out the test items you can go to AKC CGC & CGCA to look up the actual test.
There is no age requirement for dogs taking the CGC or CGCA test. Your dog does not have to have an AKC Registration Number (Pure-Bred, PAL, or Canine Partners) to take the CGC and get a certificate. However to get the CGC Title, they do. The CGCA is a Title Only, therefore, your dog does have to have an AKC Registration Number.
All tests must be performed on leash with a well-fitting buckle or slip collar, martingales or body harness. Leash should be 6 foot long. Dog needs to have a CGC test already recorded by AKC in order to take the CGCA test.
You are permitted talking to your dog during test. No treats will be allowed. No retractable leads.. Please, if wanting to take the CGCA test, be aware of the 10 items you will need to preform in order to pass. If you cannot find the 10 test items on the AKC website you may contact Shan or I and we will try to send them to you.
Cost is $10 per dog, per test.
No Aggressive dogs, they will be dismissed. The AKC will require an additional fee when you send in your paperwork to them.
Our Annual KCA Spring Fling follows at 3:00pm, so come prepared to stay and play.
