This class will help you to prepare for the CGC or CGCA test. KCA is holding a testing center on August 31 at our Sizzlin’ Summer BBQ at Fruitvale Park. This seminar is offered to help you pass those tests.
Your dog needs to have training in the basic commands, sit, down, stay, come and heel to really benefit from this seminar.
The purpose of the AKC CGC Program is to ensure that our favorite companions, our dog, can be a respected member of the community because it has been trained to be well behaved in the home
and in classes.
There are two levels, AKC Canine Good Citizen and AKC Canine Community Canine. Dogs that have their CGC on register with AKC may then take the advanced level Canine Community Canine test.
We will go through the 10 elements of the CGC test and the 10 elements of the CGCA test. Passing each of the tests can earn your dog a Title and they will be listed in the CGC records at American Kennel Club.
The program is open to all dogs, pure-bred and mixed breeds and to dogs of all ages.
The fee for this class is $30.00 per dog/handler for KCA Members. If you have not paid your Membership dues for 2014/15 (due as of July 1, 2014), you will also need to pay the $20 dues in order to be covered under KCA's insurance.
