RALLY PRACTICE AND SOCIALIZATION

If you can come at 1:15pm to help set up....GREATLY APPRECIATED. Also we will take up the course at 2:45pm. Help taking it down is always appreciated.

Each week we will set up a Rally course of 10-20 signs executed with the dog at the handler's left side. At each numbered sign they perform the indicated exercise then move to the next sign. In Rally, there is unlimited communication between your dog and you. The dog and handler team is on its own to complete the course correctly and in a timely fashion. Each course is different and a new "experience," which makes it fun and challenging.

If a member needs to practice some basic obedience commands, Beginner Novice or Novice Obedience exercises or brush up on their socialization skills we can work on that, too. It's a great time to practice long sits and downs as well as "Stand for Examination" and the Figure 8.

If you don't want to practice, just bring out your dog for socializing. The earlier you start socializing your dog, the better and happier you both will be.

This Rally Course we set up is intended for KCA members that have had previous Rally or Obedience Training or are presently in a Rally or Obedience Class. This weekly gathering is a practice, not a class. However, because a great part of this event is Socialization, visitors are welcome to come and meet some of our members and observe the practices. All we ask is that after 2 visits you join the club and look into starting one of our classes.
