Adobe upgrade policy (updated)

Dear KCDesignCore Members:

Good News!

Adobe announced an update to the Creative Suite upgrade policy. They will be offering a special introductory offer for folks on CS3 & CS4 who want to upgrade to CS6 when it is released. Obviously, they understand that you will need more time to evaluate CS6 and the Creative Cloud offering to decide which is right for you so the offer will be available from release date until December 31, 2012.

So, what does this really mean?

  • Old: If you were on CS4 or earlier at the time CS6 shipped, you would either have to pay full price to upgrade to CS6 or purchase a Creative Cloud membership.
  • New Offer: If you're on CS3 or CS4 when CS6 ships, you'll have until Dec. 31, 2012 to upgrade to CS6 with upgrade pricing. You can of course choose a Creative Cloud membership.
  • Bottom line: During 2012, you don't have to buy CS5 just to buy CS6 when it is released.

More Details can be found here

We discussed this briefly at the February meeting but now Adobe has formalized the deal.

See you in March!
