A place that can accommodate the crowds of board game night has been found!

The hotel has a large spacious lobby that should easily accommodate 50 of us or more.

Please bring a snack to pass and BYOB!!!

It was nice to meet everyone who came out. I had a great time. I am looking forward to hosting again soon.

Unfortunately, Carol is sick. But I will be watching out for the next one!

I'm looking forward to tonight. I want to encourage everyone to bring whatever games they want, think others might like, & of course I might be good at. LOL NOTE ON PARKING: The lot here is too small. There are times when there is not enough stalls for the guests, let alone any kind of meet up. That said you have 2 options if the lot is full. The hotel encourages guests to park on the grassy area in front of the hotel. As you come down the driveway make a right along the front of the hotel & you'll see a large orange cone. It marks where a ramp up the curb is to aid parking on the grass. The second option is to park in the lot next to the hotel. It is very short walk to the front door of the hotel from there. This option is however not encouraged by the hotel. Should you arrive first and are unable to find me (I'm a short well padded redhead) I believe you can have the desk call my room, suite #112. See you all tonight.

Sorry. I'll have to back out this weekend. A lot of stuff came my way.

My apologies if this has already been asked but: although it's technically a board game night, are people amenable to a small amount of card game inclusion? My wife and I really like Munchkin (the simpler versions that don't have a game board).

Also this is all speculative--not sure if we'll be able to attend or not in any case.

    TIA.

Card games are fine too. Most board game nights I have been to previously was a mixture of board and card. Stick with non ccg and you should be good.

I am OK with it being any kind of non video game. I think the hotel would be upset if we commandeered the big screen for that. I am hoping people bring all kinds of stuff. I have been out of the loop a LONG time I would love to see what is out there.

I know that my husbands coworker and I have hung out chatting and what not until well after 1 on more than one occasion. I am pretty sure as long as we are not disturbing anyone we can stay as late as people want to stay. I think we would have to try hard to disturb people so I am guessing as late as we feel like.

How late will we have the space?

Rod and I will both be late, but are looking forward to it.

I have a lot of board games, any suggestions of types of game you like or specific titles?

How about something I might have a change at winning, lol.

I have to agree with Angji on this one. Couldn't we find a place more centrally located?

This location is where I will be living for the next 18-24 months. Most any other time you would want to use a venue like this it would have a fee in my experience. I wish my hotel was a little more centrally located but this is the best I can do.

I'm with Charity. Pretty much *everything* is in south Kansas City. I'm glad to have an event up north!

Leaves plenty of time for salsa dancing afterwards :-)

The new space sounds great! Just way too far for this South KCer to drive though. Have fun!
