KC Skeptical Women

This is a group for smart, critically thinking women who enjoy a mix of quality conversation as well as paltry celebrity gossip.  At any given event, conversation easily vacillates between weighty social issues, to tawdry sex talk, to esoteric philosophic discussion, to bitching about our significant others and sharing fun mom stories.  We're basically just a bunch of fun, cool chicks who like to kick back a bottle of wine on a Thursday night whenever given the opportunity.  Please join us! :)  

 

Some useful definitions:       

Skepticism in contemporary usage is used loosely to denote any questioning attitude, or doubt regarding claims that are taken for granted elsewhere.  Philosophical skepticism is an overall approach that requires all new information to be well supported by evidence.  

Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that opinions should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or dogma.
