Bootstrap for Designers

We are hopping on KCDesignCore's meeting this month because it was an interesting topic. Next month, we'll go back to hands-on events.

Bootstrap for Designers: February KCDesignCore meeting featuring Mark Spencer

We are officially calling this meeting ONLINE ONLY for tomorrow night. Based on what I'm hearing, we might not even have Centriq to hold the meeting anyway — they're already scheduling some of their training classes to be remotely taught on Tuesday. If they were to close early, or all day, there goes our watch this space for the full URL for AdobeConnect Tuesday night!

The rapid adoption of mobile devices has created challenges for designers tasked with creating content that looks great from desktop to smartphone and all tablets in between. (Twitter) Bootstrap is a framework for rapidly building web pages that shape themselves to the device where they are viewed, otherwise known as responsive web design.

At the next KCDesignCore meeting, Mark Spencer will present an overview of the Bootstrap 3.0 framework and show you how you can utilize it in your next project that includes mobile and desktop users.

You won't want to miss it!

URL to be determined tomorrow. I'll email you all for the exact way to view.

Let me talk to Buck. He is a little rusty with Connect.

The presentations was a little rushed. Probably because the audience included both designers and coders, it wasn't focused enough. Overall, it was definitely good exposure to the platform. I look forward to giving Bootstrap a try within the next month or so.

It was a great start to fueling the fire of interest for me with bootstrap. I knew very little about it, and with this it got me doing more research and has me eager to practice it in my free time!

We will be changing this to an online meeting because of the snow. Will message everyone later.

I'm looking forward to the meeting! I'm hoping the snow prediction doesn't cause a cancellation.

So I'm sure we've all heard about the snowpocalpyse tomorrow (Tuesday 2.04). Are you guys considering rescheduling?

Look forward to the presentation. While not a UX/UI designer, I often get put into the role of making those decisions.

We'll have to get Buck to get his speaker to answer that.
