Faith Exploration Course

A discussion based course on faith for adults will run from October to May in a meeting room of Clarendon Street Parish Centre on the First Saturday of every month from 2-4pm. The focus will be on the great questions of life such as the existence of God, the meaning of life, the basis of morality, etc. Although primarily based on the Christian tradition it will also explore the major Religions of the world and how they relate to Irish Society today. It will include a break for tea/coffee in the local Priory cafe.

The Leaving Certificate textbook “Faith in Action” by Niall Boyle and a facilitator will guide the discussion group. For those who may be interested there will also be the option of sitting the state exam in 2015. It is free to attend. The discussion is on chapters 6 and 8 this month.

Everyone welcome to attend any first Saturday of the month.

This was a really rewarding day's discussion bringing us through possibly the greatest challange to our faith ie the presence of suffering in this world. Many people shared their views and I think we all left with a greater undestanding of life, the human condition and the manner in which God relates to us. The issue of evil and personal choice was also examined. We finished up with a study of the evidence / proof for the life of Jesus.
