We hope you’ll join us for a special event meet-up this Saturday evening. This meet-up comes in two parts, the first of which is an hour long open paddle session beginning at 4:30pm. Everyone will meet at the Billy Lush Board Shop on Volunteer Landing and access the water from Volunteer Marina.
The open paddle is free of charge, and we have 10 boards for anyone who doesn’t own their own. If you do own your own board, please bring it so we can get as many people on the water as possible.
The second part of this meet-up is the annual Raising of the Water party hosted by and benefiting Fort Loudon Lake Association. This party begins at 6pm and takes place at 3106 Kingston Pike, about a 5 min drive from our shop.
The Raising of the Water Party is the Fort Loudon Lake Association’s annual fund raiser. Here is an excerpt from their website (FLLAKE.org):
We are very excited about this year's Raising of the Water Party! John Trotter has been gracious enough to host the Raising of the Water at his beautiful homestead, the former Dulin Art Gallery on Kingston Pike. This year we will have unique and exciting auction items presented by Auctioneer David Pozy including fabulous getaways, beautiful works of art, party packages for you to throw the party of the century, and so much more! There will also be live music from the Jay Eric Band for you to enjoy while perusing the silent auction items and noshing on the delicious food provided by Dead End BBQ. We cannot wait and hope to see you all there! Come have some fun and help us raise money to keep Fort Loudoun Lake safe, clean, and fun!
Tickets for this event are normally $50 per person, but we are able to offer everyone in this group a special price of only $25! – AND – the first 6 people to RSVP Yes for this event will receive their ticket for FREE, courtesy of Billy Lush Board Shop : )
The Raising of the Water Party is always a well-run event with lots of great food, drinks, live entertainment and the opportunity to bid on some impressive auction items. Best of all, its for a great cause. So please join us in supporting the Fort Loudon Lake Association and all it does for our paddling community!
