This group is for any and all whitewater kayakers, canoeists, IKs that just want to get together and boat! No charters, officers, or business meetings just people who love to get out on the water! We welcome anyone from beginner to expert to lead or organize a trip. If you want to run a river you don't know, offer to organize the trip and ask someone else to lead it! I started this group for those who are looking for a simple way to meet other whitewater boaters without all the formalities of a "canoe club" As individual boaters, we are all expected to self evaluate and make our own decision about what we feel is safe to run. You will quickly and easily find folks that can help you with those decisions if you need to but ultimately it is your decision. Be safe out there! The plan is to start this group on donations. If we get enough members it'll stay that way. If not, I'll charge no more than $4/year. Any extra money will buy food or beer at Barley's during kayak porn night or something cool like that! :-) I've never ran a meetup group before so bear with me as this is a learning experience!
