Until the move is made to Redding,
THIS EVENT IS HELD IN LAS VEGAS.
We will begin a Sunday event in Redding very soon.
The Northern California project is one of many discussion items
at the Sunday event, as is Authentic Living and Self-Realization.
The following section is by Sean Brown. It is not representative of anyone else at the Sky Mountain Way Sangha. For information presented by the Sky Mountain Way Sangha itself, please CLICK HERE.

It seems there exists a consciousness that resides within a living body that does not appear to be present in a dead body. Because our consciousness has only known the experience of being centered within a body it naturally becomes identified with our body. That identification results in the ego.
When our consciousness releases that identification we come to realize our true nature which is our divinity. That realization allows us to shift from a fear-based reaction to life, to a love-based allowance of the perfection of life. People who have fully realized this are often called Enlightened, Self-realized, or Liberated.
I have had enough experiences coming from that love-based allowance of life that I see a great benefit of living that way permanently. To this end I am learning how to disidentify my consciousness from my body effectively dismantling the mechanism that has enabled the ego's existence.
I have attended many events held by the local Consciousness, Spiritual, and Metaphysical Meetup groups in town and Sunday Sangha has been a great tool in helping me expand my awareness and connecting with like-minded people. If there is one regularly scheduled event that I would not miss it is the Sunday Sangha. I very much enjoy the broad range of topics that are discussed at the other meetings and they do help me construct my own personal paradigm, but the Sunday Sangha is the one meetup that gets down to the core issues.
The primary objective of the 3 hour discussion at Sangha is to enable us to realize our Enlightenment. It is not to discuss issues that we have in our daily life, it is not to help fix our dysfunctional relationships, and it is not about other dimensions, worlds, or universes. It is about taking you from intellectualizing your divinity to actually owning it as an ongoing experience. Instead of thinking about the world outside of us, we learn to experience the world within our own selves.
The casual atmosphere of the meetup can be deceiving. Make no mistake, this is serious business. This is the least social of the meetups that I frequent and yet those of us who attend regularly share a bond that is incredibly strong. We have been meeting for three years now. I have witnessed several members make definite and large strides towards freeing themselves from the maya, making baby-steps towards their own Enlightenment realization. I have also witnessed quite a few people who were making those same strides and then stopped coming once they got a little too close to liberation. Acid bathing the bonds your ego seems to have on you can be quite an uncomfortable experience, which is why many call it WORK. We go to other meetings to socialize and play the game of seeking blue skies and cotton candy clouds. We come to Sangha to take our medicine and let go of our misperceptions (NOT to be replaced with other dogma or doctrine.) Attending Sangha is much like regularly going to the gym. At first it can be a little painful getting used to the new routine. But once you break through the inertia of setting a new pattern it can become quite addicting, especially once the fruits of breaking free from egoic programming start coming to light.
The group is quite small with most events attended by 6-20 people. Most of us have yet to remember that we are all already Enlightened, but the meetings are regularly attended by a few who have realized their Enlightened state and who are willing to help us, too, share that realization. James A., a local philosopher, artist, and poet, attends most meetings and is very generous in sharing his insight with us. Bring your questions with you, but be prepared to hear the answer... it might not be what you want to hear.
If you are interested in seriously upping the ante and are ready and willing to start tearing away the layers to reveal your true Self, consider attending the Sunday Sangha. Many come, few return, but those who do know that they are well on their path beyond the ultimate experience. I hope to see you there.
