9:15 – 10:00 am Sitting/walking meditation- free individual instruction

10:00 -11:00 am Talk by Joe Bright, LAc:

Joe's background in meditation began with tai chi, qigong, and general Taoist studies. In 1999, he attended his first 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat and soon found himself in Burma on a longer retreat. He is an Iolani graduate, worked as a freelance calligrapher, has a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and a Master's degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He ran his own small company that focused on organic herb sourcing. In 2009, Joe founded Kama‘aina Acupuncture as a community resource for affordable healthcare options. He balances his time in the clinic with teaching at the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, leading vipassana (mindfulness) meditation, as well as following his pursuits in the arts of painting and calligraphy.
