KCE: A Christmas Cracker - Kanban Games

About the Session

Get to learn more about Kanban through game play.

Change of plan

Unfortunately Jon can no longer make this session, and since we all have congested Christmas diaries, we thought it best to keep the date the same but change the session. I will instead be bringing some other games along to play. We can then have an open session on Kanban, or even Cynefin if the conversations from the last session are anything to go by.

This special Christmas edition will be hosted and sponsored by Valtech.

Learnt a huge deal around trial &error with regular retrospectives to speed delivery, delivery estimation with Seans string game and Dans Tiger Tank example and improving workflows via the Ball Floor game. Great to hear on-the-ground agile stories from others. Really useful learning experience and thank you again for giving up your time. Leo

I should say delivery forecast over estimation re: Seans game!

Last minute pre-xmas gig means I'm not going to be back in time for this, shame as it looks like it will be fun! Merry Christmas!

Unfortubately Jon can no longer make that date, but rather than cancel I thought I'd bring some kanban / agile learning games for us to play.

Does that sound like a good idea?

Both YouTube and Vimeo have several of Snowden's conference talks. The fact that a significant number of them are given at Lean events is telling; I think it's because both communities have the notional cycle of belief, hypothesis, experiment, knowledge.

A great talk by Karl Scotland that ties some of the themes of Cynefin and Kanban together:

Sorry for not being able to make it. Our departments Christmas party has been organised for the same date and we are not expected to miss this one. Hope everyone enjoys the kanban game.

Intro reminds me of that old gag about dressing up in spooky outfits on 25 Dec and giving out presents on 31 Oct :-)
