Downtown gaming weekly meetup

We will begin with lighter games that are quick or easily joined. Then we can break out onto some of the tables in smaller groups if numbers and space allows. Come teach us your favorite game or learn one of ours! We should have plenty of players for a few different games and enough time to try a variety.

Outside food is welcome and the location has free popcorn and bar snacks, nuts and other items, for purchase.  This is a nonsmoking establishment.

I'm glad we had such a high turnout tonight! Great to see everyone! We has 3 groups teaching/learning games tonight and many more people than those on the RSVP, 13 I believe. String rails came out, Tribune, and Puerto Rico. Thanks a lot to the others that taught. See some of you next week. :-D

We had a good time playing String Railway and Poo the card game with Ross and Dorian. Cinder Block is good - it would be nice to have tea and pub food...(the Porter I had would have been great along side a reuben sandwich.

Well, another great night of gaming! Btw, here is a site you can play some games online:

    http://en.boardgamearena.com/

They have Race for the Galaxy, Puerto Rico, Seasons, and much more! Maybe we can set up a meetup and play online sometime

If people also want to learn RftG, I would be happy to teach it on here

Well, at the last minute my ride for tonight bailed on me, so if anyone is leaving from/passing through downtown, I wouldn't mind a ride! I can meet right by the library, or walking distance from there.

The roads should be fine tomorrow, so no changes to the meetup. Though please be careful. I'd rather have everyone show up late than not at all.

I plan to start teaching Tribune at 6:30pm to give us enough time for new people to learn the game and for us to play once. The game tends to take 1-1 1/2 hours to play. So far I have one other player that asked about playing this 5 player game. I'm also bringing Carcassonne, Zombie Dice, Puerto Rico, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Pirate Fluxx, Phase 10 Dice, Power Grid, Monopoly Deal, Pass the Pigs, Settlers of Catan 5-6 player and Cities and Knights, Glen More, Forbidden Island, Castle Panic w/wizard tower expansion, and Likewise.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
