Play Diplomacy Online

NOTE: After having a few troubles getting this game started, please be sure to keep up to date with the event! We will be setting up a game once we have a full group, and if everyone doesn't join we can't start the game!

We are looking to start an online game of diplomacy! This will be a game that takes a while to play, and will be looking to play it over the course of many weeks. If you are not familiar with diplomacy, it is a military style game set in World War I. A short summary of the gameplay is as follows: Each player starts as a major world power with troops, as well as a facility to manufacture more troops. All turns are simultaneous! Everyone will submit their troop movements, and they will all be carried out at once. Before you commit your troop movements every turn, there is a diplomacy phase between other players, where you make secret deals and pacts. This last part is the most essential, and heart of the gameplay. It is also the part that slows the game down, as people want to try and negotiate deals between multiple players.

There is a website to play for free online, webdiplomacy.net , which can be used for the map and communication between players as well.  We are looking at having to submit orders every 2 days, so you will have some time to negotiate with other players.

The joining time allowed has ended. This has been the third time I've tried to get this going, with no success, so I will be doing it a little different this time. I will make a new event for this for one week from now, with a game that gives everyone 7 days to join. If you sign up for the event, be sure to sign up for the game after you sign up for the event.

I am too - it says 29 minutes until start, but I thought sign up time had passed. Hopefully the other three can join!

Help me be clear with this request. Are you asking for everyone to sign up at webdiplomacy? Will there be a game we need to join? We have to show up right at 3pm tomorrow right? Any other requests? IS there a dial-in number we can all join at that time so that we can coordinate better?

Yes, we are using webdiplomacy.net for our game. There is a game on there to join, called KCMEETUP, with the password 'euphoria'. It has an interface to send moves, have a public group chat, as well as private chat between players. We don't need to be there at 3 tomorrow, it was an arbitrary date until everyone signed up. It is now set for Sunday at noon, when the game will start. You don't have to be there when it starts, but you will be able to start communicating with everyone after that point. We don't have a dial-in number, but if you want coordination, we could always try and schedule that.

Alright, I am now making the game on webdiplomacy.net. The game name is 'KCMEETUP', and the password is 'euphoria'. I will give it until Sunday at noon to join up, so make sure to log into the game by then!
