Play Some Games

A group over at BoardGameGeek has put together a date to meet some new people, get to know each other, and play some games. The more the merrier!

The deets:

The event will be held in the Large Meeting room. Admission is free. Given the expensive and fragile nature of board games and their components, we ask that no snacks be brought into the room. Please bring drinks in containers with lids (no open tops).

There will be 6 narrow tables in the room, and we can request more day-of depending on availability. Games requiring more board and table space (most games) will require two of these tables, so capacity is limited. The goal is to have games starting hourly to give players the opportunity to arrive at their leisure and provide seats for new players every hour. If you wish to bring a game, please bring a game that supports 4-6 people that you can teach and play in an hour or less. If you've got a big-box game that you've been itching to play but can't find the time or players, bring it too, and bust it out if we end up with extra table space!

If you are bringing games you can show up as early as 2pm to set them up or drop them off. The room is reserved until 8pm but we will be allowed 1 hour of "clean up" time until the library closes at 9pm.

I will be bringing the following games:

Carcassonne (2-6 players, 1 hour play time)
Settlers of Catan (2-4 players, 1 hour play time)
Ticket to Ride (2-5 players, 1 hour play time)
Panic Station (3-6 players, 1 hour play time)
Space Alert (3-5 players, 30 minutes per mission play time)
The Resistance (5-10 players, 15 minutes per round play time)

Other games I can bring include Agricola, Glen More, Battlestar Galactica, Hero Quest, Android: Netrunner, and more.

I would play any game, any time with any and all of the people I met tonight. Thanks for coming.

I will go ahead and bring this 4-6 player game I called Slaughterama that I've been making/improving for years in years. it's a demented game of fighting monsters and commerce as well. it's pretty easy to learn to play. You can check it out at www.slaughteramaboardgame.com

Awesome, bring it! I want to have a zombie/Cthulhu themed game night in October, as well, and this would fit in nicely

I can probably swing by after work. Glad to see some activity in this group again.

@Michael: Please bring one easy-to-play and teach game, and one not-so-easy to teach and play :) Like Catan for the former and Race for the Galaxy for the latter.

I'll have to leave around 5:30, but I can get there right at 3:00

That is actually perfect because we have been having trouble getting someone there right at 3. If no one else is able to get there that early, I'll be sure to get there at 3 as well.

ON IT! Getting off of work early to be there at 2:00 for setup :)

Check out the updated info at

I will be there at 2:00 to setup. There will be at least 6 narrow tables (1 narrow table can accommodate maybe one game of Carcassonne or Catan, but 2 tables will be needed for games requiring larger real estate such as Ticket to Ride).

Hope to see many new faces!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
