Let's learn how to manipulate data in R (beginner's session)

Note that this meeting is one hour earlier than our normal starting time of 2pm.

This will be a beginner's session talking about data management issues in R. Earl will start off with a discussion of how to aggregate data using the apply function and variations on the apply function. Kris will share some code for how to screen variables and replace missing values. Caleb will talk about version control options with R. If there's a bit of time left, Steve will share some tricks for getting counts and percents using the table function.

We'll also talk about topics and speakers for future meetings, especially the advanced topics session on Saturday, July 19.

Kris and Caleb, if you want to share files or links to your talks here, that would be great! Thanks to you both (and to Earl) for some very good presentations.

I hate to cancel at the last minute, but I have to. I will be on the lookout for other discussion/events with you.

Would it be considered rude if I had to leave early? I've got an appointment at 3 that I can't reschedule?

I can talk about version control, if you'd like.
