Tennis - 103rd & Marty (W of Metcalf)

This rec center has eight tennis courts.  Restrooms and water are conveniently located.  Although the courts can be reserved in advance (for a fee), we generally just show up and see what's available. My first choice will always be court 8  - on the far end. It has a backboard, and if you get there early (or if no one else shows up) you can practice on that. If #8 is taken, I try to get court 3.

You can RSVP anytime, but if no one else has signed up an hour before the meetup, I may not be there. Also, if you RSVP Yes and then decide not to come, please change your RSVP. This is especially important if only one or two other people have signed up.

Thanks, and see you there!

I checked Wikipedia. Did you know that in Australia, they call it 'American doubles'?

I agree - it was a good game. Jane's serve has really heated up. Gilbert, as always, can really place his shots.

There were many a good shot made during this evening's Australian tennis match. Then after a rather close finish, Gilbert prevailed over Richard and me. I think the water mister gave him the edge...and admittedly he did graciously offer to share it.

Keep this updated for today. I might be able to make 7:00pm if you are going to "meetup" :)

Thanks for the time change. That should make it feel several degrees cooler. I'd like to play.....will check the forecast again tomorrow. A current forecast for Thursday:
    5 pm 95° Sunny feels like: 104° humidity: 47%
    6 pm 93° Sunny feels like: 102° humidity: 49%
    7 pm 92° Sunny feels like: 99° humidity: 49%
    8 pm 91° Sunny feels like: 98° humidity: 52%
    9 pm 89° Clear feels like: 96° humidity: 54%

Factoring in Gilbert's mister should also drop it another few degrees...wearing a wet bandana can help too.

I'm moving the time back in the hopes that slightly lower temp will make it more enjoyable. Even if it's still hot, I'm willing to get out there and give it a try for at least an hour.

Just consider the heat a minor inconvenience......
