This is going to be an informational and support group for survivors of trauma and PTSD. I am excited to share with others that understand. This will be a time for us all to get together and share about experiences and what works for everyone. Please note that members only can attend the group. Thank you.

Hey guys, I'm Jennifer-I haven't been to any of the meet ups, but I needed to speak with people that understand. I think I might lose my job-just started on 3/31. My bosses know of my physical/mental issues. I've missed 5 days of work, usually a few minutes late, and paranoid with co-workers (lovely anxiety rearing it's head). Some days I just don't want to get out of bed, or don't give a shit about life anymore. I'll admit a couple of those days I just didn't want to get out of bed and face life. I actually had to miss work on Friday bc of my Fibromyalgia-my doctor didn't want me going in bc I was in such pain. My boss still asked me to go in, but I said no per doctors instructions. I guess he was pissed and a co worker told me they're questioning my reliability. I hate this. I hate this all-never being able to do good in life. So, I'm going in tomorrow early to speak with my dick of a boss to see what I can improve-what he has to understand about me. Sorry guys, just had to vent.Ty

Hi Jennifer and welcome to the board (and soon to a meeting). As you know all too well, working and PTSD don't always mix. I manage to do it fairly well most of the time ... but I have had to take a few month-long leaves of absence over the past 5 years. Please do come to a meeting; we'll talk about how you feel and how to manage how you feel. If that helps you keep a job or decide to go on disability, so much the better.

And PS - I recommend you delete your last name from the screen name. It's too easy for people (even dumb bosses) to find things.

    Hey Jennifer,
I totally understand what is happening with you. I think I can say for the group that we all do. For a lot of us our PTSD symptoms take over and we are unable to work. So being late, not going in etc makes total sence. It takes on a life of its own. But, I do think,if you attend the meetings it will help you not feel so alone. We all understand. If u can make it to the meeting one time I promise it will help!!

I am impressed with all of us - the courage to hear what others say, the courage to look at our own issues, and the courage to keep trying through the really crappy times, the triggered times, our angry seasons, and even our use of laughter to get through our days. Kudos to all of us!!!!!! :)))

We did Indeed Kathi, :) out in the parking lot before we left. Iam just sorry i couldnt get the burden off her shoulders at that time, i so wanted to. And, I actually felt ok before we left the meeting because I spoke up soon as I was triggered (when I said others tried to STOP me before & im not going to let it stop me now) so basically I confronted the trigger itself & I think it disarmed it. Notice I did not ball up & go silent... I spoke several things. I am just sorry Lori felt bad cause she didn't do anything wrong... and thanks Lori for your big heart I forgot to say that.... I love you for it!

Awww Lori, hugs... when we trigger others its usually not that we did anything wrong, and would you have known that was a trigger to me? What you said was in fact a right on "heads up" deal... and you know what else... we both came out on the other side, I'd rather have one of my support groupie members trigger me than anyone else cause YOU SUPPRT ME WELL, you said what you said out of care and I thank you for that. So, if you crucified youself, then I ressurect you now and i give you 7 free coupons to trigger me again and when those run out theyll be more. ok! I feel stronger today, because we managed it on the spot. Be free my sister in the cause. Forgive any typos as I'm on my phone... ya'll are the greatest... for real... ok group hug (((u's))). Shout out MONA! Wish I were there!

I am so glad to hear that but I am still crucifying myself. I've been in a really bad way for the past 2 weeks and haven't been able to share. Then I triggered at least 2 people. I took my therapist's advice and took a xanax. It helped a bit. Damn PTSD. :(
