Become a better public speaker & expand your network with Toastmasters

Do you want to feel more confident as a speaker? Ace that job interview? Improve your communication skills in general? Then look no further and visit Toastmasters Karlsruhe :-).

We - a group of around 20 public speaking aficionados from all over the world - meet on every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of the month from[masked] at the Luise-Riegger-Haus to improve our public speaking skills in a friendly, supportive, and relaxed atmosphere. We gather at 19.15 and the program starts at 19.30.

During our meetings, three or four club members give a prepared speech of 5 to 10 Minutes each. The other club members assess these speeches and provide valuable hints on improving them. In this way we learn by doing and helping each other. Besides, we have a round of spontaneous speeches which is always a lot of fun and helps you to think on our feet.

Guests are always welcome. As a guest, you can just sit and watch or actively participate in a meeting role if you like.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or just step by at the meetings.
Best regards
Kailey

Hi! I have been wanting to come for a while, but was in an Ausbildungs program, and it never fit. This one also does not fit (I have a client, I need to block it off sooner!) but I will keep trying!

Question: how long are the extemporaneous talks (each)? This will help me think about some suitable potential topics.

Hi Deborah, the improvised speeches are 1-3 min. I used to think a lot about the improvised speeches. I recommend just to relax and talk about whatever comes to your mind first. There will be a "table topics master" who has prepared questions the speaker can respond to. So no need to prepare at all .

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
