Karma Camp's Interlink Outreach Program (I.O.P.)
The Interlink Outreach Program (I.O.P.) travels to designated sites throughout the County of Orange to provide Internet and cell phone amenities free of charge to the homeless community as part of Karma Camp's Mobilized Outreach Program. At these sites, Karma Campers assist individuals with the use of communication equipment. Together we will be providing the community a valuable resource.
Event Date/Time: Every Thursday from 10:00am - 3:00pm
Volunteers Needed: 6-8 Karma Campers per event
Additional Donations Needed: Water, snacks and clothing donations
Locations: City of Santa Ana – Corner of Civic Center and Ross by the Court House
Roles and Responsibilities:
Karma Campers will arrive one hour before and anticipate remaining one hour after to assist in set-up and/or tear down of tables, canopies and equipment. Team Members will assist the community in using Karma Camp sponsored technology to obtain email addresses, search the web, create virtual phone numbers, make phone calls and obtain resources. Team Members will be guided and supervised by Karma Leaders*.
*Karma Campers are also provided the opportunity to advance into Karma Leaders, gaining leadership skills, creating teams while hosting additional IOP events on their own with Karma Camp support. (Ask a Leader for more details)
