Climate War! Meetup with Eric Pooley, Climate War author, and Harvest Potluck

No location was chosen

CLIMATE WAR
Meetup with Eric Pooley, author of the new book, Climate War and Garden Harvest Potluck in Pam Pooley's gardens. (Pam is a native plant specialist and garden designer, among other things!)

This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with Eric in an intimate, relaxed setting. You are encouraged to have read the book prior the meetup so you can participate in the dialogue. You can buy the book on Amazon here. (available in Kindle edition too, which I just found out can be used on any device, not just the Kindle device)

HARVEST POTLUCK GRILL
This will be a 'Potluck Grill' so bring a dish to share or some of your garden bounty to throw on the grill. In the spirit of Slow Food USA's mission of bringing "Good, Clean, Fair" food everywhere, I'm organizing a series of potlucks in hopes that they will help to foster a sense of community around food and sustainability issues. After all, what better way than sharing food to do this?

Potluck
Bring a dish to share made of your favorite local and sustainably grown whole foods. Labels or a card with ingredients is always a good idea. You might want to post here on Meetup what you'll be bringing to help others decide what to bring. Bring your own re-useable servingware (plates, cups, silverware, napkins) and drinks.

LOCATION: North Salem. Exact details will be sent after you RSVP.

I received directions successfully. Thank you. I was also able to pay online, although there wasn't an initial prompt for that; had to log back in and seek out that action. Looking forward to seeing you in about one hour. Best, Lee Barney

It was great to hear Eric speak and to hear the great dialogue that happened, not to mention the wonderful foods people brought to share and for those who stayed later, we had a real treat to hear Eric and his band rock on.

Heather's pot lucks are always great, but this one was special even by her standards. Food, as always, was fabulous. Conversation, stimulating. The setting is beautiful, and I especially liked the tour of Eric and Pam's gardens. Was the secret ingredient the live music? Was it the absolutely perfect weather? Was it the Blue Pig ice cream? maybe it was just "all of the above".

Eric spoke about why he wrote the book and shared personal conversations he had with some of the key oil and coal executives. He is also very well versed on the global economics of energy resources as well as the political and legislative status. He and his wife, Pam, were gracious hosts, and the other members of the Katonah Green & Beyond Harvest Potluck group brought beautiful, natural homemade dishes and salads. Eric played in a band of his friends from Brown. And the people were all interesting and kind. A lovely day. Thank you for the experience and the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of "The Climate War" by Eric Pooley.
