Film, Discussion, Popcorn and Hot Tea

ANNOUNCEMENT: The discussion for this Saturday's Environmental Film & Discussion Series will be led by Danny Martin. Danny has a long history of helping to foster community dialogue and shaping vision into action. This should be a perfect match with "I AM". Read about Danny here

Saturday, January 4 , 7:00 pm: Film Title: “I AM”

Lewisboro Environmental Film & Discussion Series: The next film is very close to my heart and I hope you'll join us if you are ready to do more in 2014.  RSVP, Donation details and Volunteer opportunities below.

I Am: The Film asks: Do we have the power to change the world? What motivates humans? What is the nature of humanity? What can be done about the world's ever-growing addiction to materialism?

January is a perfect time to contemplate these, plus see how we can connect around the answers. Watch the trailer here or the interview with the filmmaker below.

The film series is sponsored by Rings End Lumber in Vista. They provide a popcorn maker and we pop organic, gmo-free popcorn in NY sunflower oil with sea salt. The Lewisboro Library provides us with a big hot water urn and bring an assortment of organic teas.

For the 2014 series Gossett's Farmer's Market will be co-sponsoring the series. Be sure to check them out on Saturdays and Sundays all winter at the indoor market!

The Film Series is organized by the Lewisboro Sustainability Committee and Katonah Green.

Donation: There is a suggested donation of $5 per person or $10/family to help support the series. The Sustainability Committee uses the donations to pay for future screening licenses and hopes to help the library purchase a new screen.

RSVP: You can register on the Meetup, or you may also register by calling the library at[masked], or sending an email to [masked].

Next Film: The February film is a great way to get kids involved. Saturday, February 8, 7:00 pm. “Arctic Tale” is by the same people who brought us “March of the Penquins.” This great family film follows a polar bear cub and walrus pup as they face countless challenges in the beautiful icebound world that is rapidly melting beneath them.

Volunteer: Want to volunteer with the series? We meet once a month to discuss upcoming films, screening licenses, community building and sponsorship. Contact[masked] or [masked]

The film was enlightening and really made you think about why we are here on planet earth. The delicious organic popcorn and warming tea also hit the spot on a cold wintery night.

Thanks for organizing this Heather! And thanks to all of you for being a part of the group consciousness. The film was a great reminder that we each have our own unique way of making a difference.

I was on my way, saw a light in my car panel that my tire pressure is low in one of my tires. Didn't want to take the chance of going out on the roads with low tire pressure. Looking forward to the next green meetup.
