    Tips from the field from David Mathison: "Practice Reciprocity": when someone follows you on Twitter, go to their profile, check out what they are about, follow them, thank them, contact them if you see common ground. They are real people.

    Another tip: use your social media platforms as a team. Meet someone on Twitter. Use Twitter to draw them to your Facebook page. Use your Facebook page to introduce someone to your website. From your website, write them an email. Who knows? That email could even lead to a phone call!
