This two-day workshop offers a unique opportunity experience a contemplative practice using cameras as a way to expand how you see and interact with the world.
Contemplative photography is a way of dissolving our preconceptions and our expectations so that the world can reach us through our cameras. This school of contemplative photography brings together the art of photography and the discipline of meditation.

No photography experience is necessary! Just bring whatever camera you are comfortable using.

Denise grew up in Springfield, MO and received her B.A. from Washington University, St. Louis, where she studied chemistry and biology. She received her PhD. from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she studied developmental neurobiology. She then received her Masters from Nova Southeastern University, where she studied computer science. She spent the last decade working in service-based companies as a business process improvement specialist, data analyst, and quality control director before she discovered her passion for Miksang photography and became a certified Miksang photography teacher. She teaches Miksang workshops in and around Houston and practices Miksang photography with a photography group she leads. Her work has been accepted to a number of juried competitions and she is currently represented by the Art Fusion Gallery in Miami, Florida. She currently resides in Houston, TX.
