This is in response to these of you who missed the first trip. Check out the Hidalgo Falls photo album under past events to see the awesome shots the group got.
The location is Hidalgo Falls, Brazos River close to Navasota. The land is privately owned and only members of TRPA can enter through a locked gate. We will meet with member David O'Dell who will lead the group and hopefully take us to the water.....Be prepared for a slight (10 ft) grade getting down ( and back up) the hill and then wear shoes that can take a little water. High grass, shallow water, shouldn't be too bad.
Bring water for drinking, and a snack or lunch with you if you think you will need to eat. Protect camera gear reasonably for shallow water crossing. Flashlights, Bug spray...feel free to chime in with anything you think might be necessary.
We will meet outside the KCAM and leave cars there or over at Katy Hardware parking lot. We want to leave around 3:15 in order to get out, find the water and get set up for sunset. We will stay after dark and continue soothing long exposures to try for stars if the skies permit.
It is important to know that we will go as a group and we will leave as a group so that the gate is only opened and closed one time. No exceptions. We will leave on time. If you are running late, you can try to catch up, but him you are not at the gate, you will not be allowed in.
