What a wonderful way to spend our first night on Kauai. This was a really special event for us and we'll remember it for sure! I'm sure we don't need to tell you how fortunate to be able to enjoy a fire by the ocean with the waves lapping with stars overhead on this stunning island. Great company and conversation! :)

I'll have to bail. Too much to do today. I'll be back May.

Ann, or anyone else wishing to bring wood, if you have a box or container to hold the wood, there is plenty of wood at Lydgate Park and Nukoli'i Beaches, pretty easy pickings close to where you can park a car. -- I won't be able to collect any wood either, since I'm working this afternoon/evening. Not sure if I can make it to Kealia at all tonight, but will try.

I need to help take care of a friend who fell and shattered an arm. My shift ends around 6pm so I won't be able to collect any wood this time.
I'll try and make it for the fire though.

Hope we see you there, Manfred! Any tips on a good spot to pick up some wood?

Kealia is the big long beach you see just north of Kapaa. There are two entrances to the parking lot of the beach. We gather at the far south end of the beach, opposite end from where the restrooms are. Usually at the picnic shelter closest to the 10 mile marker and then adjourn to the beach. So if you are coming from either the north or the south, start watching the mile markers along the highway and turn toward the ocean at mile #10.

Have fun y'all. Dave and I are preping for our off island trip. I do taxes for my dad and need to get there to help him organize so I can do them. Also planning a trip to Oregon to see my brother's new house.

We'll miss you all. See you when we get back in May.

Was really hoping there would be a bonfire during our visit! We get in on Saturday night so as long as the jet lag isn't terrible, I plan to be there! Looking forward to it :)
