so i am officially hiking from Ke'e beach this Saturday morning at 730 am to both find a spot to park and to get as early a start as possible to cover as much ground as possible. I will attempt to get a permit to hike the whole thing (22 miles) but if I am unable to secure one, then I will do the first 10 miles or so round trip that you can do without a permit. let me know via meetup if you can make it and I will send you my cell number to coordinate. I will have at least one of my brothers with me.

So I've talked with the stare park department and they said the permits were all gone for my timeframe but that sometimes people drop or cancel. I won't be able to do anything more than one day, but at some point would love to camp the trail another trip. If I can't secure a permit I will only be able to hike the first 5 miles or so making it a 10 mile round trip. Not sure which day I will do the hike yet but I will decide when I get on the island on Sunday.kai if a day works better for you let me know and I will try to make that day happen. If anyone already has a permit or has access to one that'd be fantastic. Hope to meet some awesome people and super excited for next week. Also any amazing hole in the wall restaurants or non touristy recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Would possibly join in, have done the Kalalou trail over 20 plus times, and kayak it triple the amount of times that I hiked in. I don't have a safe place to park my vehicle while parked in Ke'e Beach, big problem for crime in the summer months, I don't trust leaving my truck, I don't know anyone living along the way on the Northside to park it, and hitchhike the rest of the way to ke'e. Need to brainstorm that part of it, I used to have a good friend that lived at tunnels beach area, but he has moved off island, can't do that anymore. But my time is free to hike, need to meet and talk with you, to see if we get along with one another, for it is quite a spiritual journey.

My phone keeps messing up :/ I can definitely maintain 2 mph and still be able to take in the beauty. I'll research the trail on my lunch and come up with any other questions I might have. Thanks for your help kaimiana!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
