Really fond memories of The Marshall Tucker Band. A group of us would head over from Pullman to Moscow to a dive bar, (usually with our bad @ss cowboy boots on) have a couple of cold b's, and sing along to The Marshall Tucker Band on the Jukebox--good times! We'd also hear The Volcano Song by Jimmy Buffet (I don't know where Im-a gonna go when the Volcano blows). Then one day Mt. St. Helens blew while we were still in Pullman and I got the answer to that mystery. Thanks to Mt. St. Helens, most of our finals were cancelled that Spring but the good time kept rollin'. <--That was a lame Cars reference for all you old farts. :)

Hahaha I'll never be an old fart but I do enjoy havin a gas! I love all of your references Sandra, especially Mt. St Helens. I grew up in Lake Oswego and watched it blow on May 18th 1980 with my mom from the top of Mtn Park. My aunt lived in Kelso and had piles of ash on the farm for quite a while. My cousin went down to the Cowlitz that day and caught salmon with his bare hands as they jumped out of the river!

Hi, Susan! I just used the term "old fart" to be funny and agree with you that one's age is always a state of mind. Sounds like you have sone fun memories from that time period too. Your cousin scored on some fresh salmon dinners! Yummm! It was an unbelievable experience at the tiime and I want to revisit Volcanos National Park one day--would really love to see the lava flowing from a boat this time. Is it back gracing the island with its magnificence and power yet? I'm going to put Pele in a black velvet painting one of these days. So far I have the black velvet for that project and a good blacklight spotlight to illuminate the painting. I'll put on Marshall Tucker and Jimmy Buffett when I begin that kitschy masterpiece. ;)
