Hike to Hoopii Falls

Let's hike to Hoopii Falls. Fairly easy. Can be slippery if it rained the night before. A little more than a mile each way, shallow pool with rope swing at second falls. Beautiful forest trail. Fun easy hike.  If you need directions to the trailhead call Manfred[masked]

Did anyone else get sick after the hike yesterday? I have flu-like symptoms and wanted to rule out leptospirosis if I could (!).

Good to hear! I'm feeling much better today - just a stomach bug or mild case of flu, I think!

Enjoyed it! Mahalo so much for organizing Manfred. If anyone is able to email me pictures, I'd love to have a few! [masked]

I'll email you a couple pics, probably tomorrow, just got back from end of the road on the north side (Kalalau Trailhead) (8:30 PM).

I have two well-behaved dogs I can keep on a leash at all times... would bringing them be allowed and/or advised?

Unless someone has allergies, I don't see a problem. It's a narrow trail in places and dogs running back and forth between people can be dangerous so keep them under control.

Sounds good - I will have them on a short leash and under control. If anyone has concerns/allergies, they also are well-behaved enough to stay in the car.

I would need directions to where we will all meet. This will be my first time hiking to the falls. Thank you.

      That should be Kapahi Rd.
