What a nice evening for a paddle - this was my first night paddle and it was nice to be with some experienced paddlers, also concerned with safety, and weather conditions. It turned out to be a beautiful evening and we caught a 3 minute glimpse of the full moon rising with Goodwin Island in the foreground. Had a blast!

Hi. I've never been in an organized trip before. I have a 17 foot perception, pfd and light. Anything else I need to know before I say yes?

Weather was great! A bit breezy at times, but not to much for the smaller kayaks. The Moon wasn't fully cooperating, but we had another spectacular sunset. If everyone enjoyed it half as much as I did, they had a great time.

Walmart has great selection of ball cap lights. Several price points. In the flashlight aisle of sporting goods. Thanks for tip!

My guest is coming in my 9.5 ft WS critter. Well evaluate conditions when we get there!

"A Boaters Guide to Federal Requirements for Recreational Boats"

    page 29

"A vessel under oars shall have ready an electric torch (flashlight) or lighted lantern showing a white light that shall be exhibited in sufficient time to prevent collision."

Last night there kayaks as short as 8' and 10', they did ok.If you have a skirt it would be a good idea to use it.

Rick, it depends on your own experience with the boat. We had some short boats last night and they were fine in 2ft waves and swell. You can use a glow stick and hang it off your pfd.

(green glow stick preferred, easy on the eyes of people behind you)
