Let's meet and paddle to Owens Marina on White House Cove for breakfast. Their Garbage Eggs are terrific. Afterwards we can paddle thru the marsh islands to Loyd Bay then into the Chesapeake while returning. This paddle is suitable for paddlers of all abilities. About 8 to 9 miles. PFD required, bring a hat, sunscreen and water.

Real nice paddle- perfect conditions. Breakfast at the marina was a great idea.

Had a nice paddle to White House Cove for breakfast at Owens Marina. Checked progress on the ramp at Rens Road, probably a month before it reopens. A quick paddle thru the marsh islands and back to the launch. A nice morning paddle with great company.

Our paddle was on a day with great weather; we had a relatively cool breeze out of the SW. Our early start kept us from any real heat, and after a short paddle, we had a great breakfast/brunch at Owens Marina in White House Bay. Then we checked out the progress of the construction on a ramp on the other side of the bay, before heading out into some islands in Lloyds Bay. Rich took an opportunity to get a dunk and wade to cool off at a beach-like area near one island, before we returned to Hunts Neck Road. .

Hi Samantha, welcome to the group.
For someone who has never kayaked, I would recommend a sit on top for this paddle. Can give you enough instructions to get you thru this.

If I rented a kayak from Wild River Outfitters I might be able to attend this. Do you think it would be suitable for someone who has NEVER kayaked? I'm hoping to take a beginners class at Wild River Outfitters.
