RE: [HRKayaking] Dagger Meridian paddles great!

Glad you’re digging the Meridian, just knew you would.  Maybe glue a lttle foam on the seat back to adj. the curve?

With the foot thing, are you leg pumping?  Or are you just pushing hard on the pedals all the time?  Focus on that on your next outing.  I suspect  you are pushing constantly vs. doing the leg pump and that’s causing the foot problems.

Subject: [HRKayaking] Dagger Meridian paddles great!

Just a quick report as I got the Dagger Meridian on the water for the
first time today.  Definitely heavier than the Montauk, I'd guess a
good 10lbs more.

This thing turns quick!  Seems to be much more nimble than the Montauk
which surprised me.  Just a slight edge and she'd come around.  I was
glad to have the skeg paddling with a tail wind though as she
weathercocks as expected.  The skeg control lever is in a better (out
of the way) location as I keep hitting the one on the Montauk.  The
seat has a deeper curve at the back which was a little uncomfortable.
The Meridian felt a little slower than the Montauk and may be since it
has more volume but I had no trouble keeping up with Karen whom I met
on her return trip from seeing the Schooner.  We were paddling into a
steady headwind and made good time.

The good news is the extra foot room seemed to help quite a bit.  I
was only going to stay out a little while but my feet didn't hurt so I
kept going and covered more distance than I have since the original
injury.  The feet began to hurt just before I pulled ashore and then
cramped up.  They feel ok now, so this is a major improvement and I'm
very happy to be back on the water.

Thanks again to Chuck who recommended this model boat.
