I hope everyone had a great holiday and is settling into the New Year. This mild winter is making paddling easier than normal, but we still need to do keep safety in mind. Stories keep popping up on the news about paddlers ending up in trouble because they didn't do the right things. Make sure you don't end up like them!
There are still a few spots open for the cold water paddling clinic I'm doing in a couple of weeks. Sign up fast if you want to come!
I noticed that a lot of new members haven't paid their $3 annual dues yet, and a bunch of other members have lapsed. Please get that taken care of. If you look at the number beside your name, it's the year, month and day you paid last. If it's over a year, it's time!
Remember, if it's too cold for you to paddle, now is a good time to check over your boats and gear for any problems, get them fixed or replaced, and be ready for spring paddling.
