We volunteer to help maintain the hiking, running, equestrian trails at the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park. Typical work goes from light tasks such as pruning, planting, raking; to harder task like trail building and rock stairs or rock wall building. Leadership, training and tools are provided. We typically work for 4 hours per event. To do this work you should wear sturdy shoes and long pants (summer weight on warm days). You should also bring a water bottle and work gloves.

Our volunteers tell us it is fun work! Some love working with the trails, some love working with the plants. Everyone seems to love being outdoors and helping to improve the park.

 

Note that we have been around quite a few years and have just recently discovered meetup.com We typically get groups of 30 to 100 volunteers per event.  The demographics run from teen to seniors, singles to families.
