Calling all movie lovers. We meet the second Tuesday and the fourth Friday of every month to get our movie fix. We will be meeting for Happy Hour/Dinner from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM.  Note: Happy hour prices are only available until 6:00 PM.

Reservations are under Joy. See you at the movies!

The Movie for tonight is the Great Gatsby playing at 7:40 PM. I suggest you purchase movie tickets prior to dinner.

Some people attending the movie are dressing up in 1920's regalia. Note: The 1920's clothing is optional for everyone else but mandatory for Queen.

An aspiring writer falls under the spell of an aloof millionaire with designs for the young scribe's unhappily married cousin in director Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's celebrated novel. It's the spring of 1922, and wide-eyed Midwesterner Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) has just moved to New York City in pursuit of the American Dream. Settling into a home next door to wealthy Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), Carraway grows increasingly fascinated by the elaborate parties held at his new neighbor's estate. Meanwhile, across the bay, Carraway's cousin Daisy (Carey Mulligan) flounders in her marriage to philandering aristocrat Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). Inspired by the debauchery on display at Gatsby's wild parties and the lives of the wealthy elite, Carraway begins putting pen to paper as it gradually becomes clear that his cousin and the millionaire share a complicated romantic past that remains unresolved. Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke, and Elizabeth Debicki co-star.

Movie tickets are $6.00 all day on Tuesdays for seniors (60).

Note: You may purchase discounted AMC movie tickets (two for $16.00) at the Covington and Tukwilla Costco checkouts  stands. Twelve dollar movie tickets for $8.00, a savings of $4.00 per ticket.

Good friends, good food, and good movie. We even had a bonifide Flapper! Queen was magnificent in her flapper regalia. I hope she will upload her picture to this site soon. I agree with Gail, Leonardo was outstanding as Gatsby but I still liked the supporting cast better in the Robert Redford version.

Leonardo was amazing in this movie but I still liked the Robert Redford version better. Some of the music and dancing (only a very small bit) was not authentic to the era but that's my only complaint. The staging and costumes were outstanding. Thanks Joy---wonderful job on this one and such a great group of people to spend the evening with.

I will bring a list of the movies playing at AMC; sometimes the group splits up and goes to different movies.
