With consideration of this week-ends high water level from the massive rains and flood warnings the state has been under all week and heading our way; Last week I decided on this area as it starts very open and clear. we will paddle toward the narrow part of the Little manatee River. You may find that starting at the narrow part of the river (we are not) you may be in the trees as the river will be higher and much wider. Sunday will be a dry day after the rain so there should be much wildlife. Bring your camera as the river will be wider and shaped differently than you are used too.
Join me if you want. I am kayaking up the Little Manatee from Ruskin to the State Park in Wimauma, then paddle back. I have done this trip a dozen or so times with Kayak Dayz. An hour into the paddle have lunch on an island. I will bring a stove and table to cook Quesadilla. Then continue up the windy river as it goes from salt water to fresh water, it will get narrower and narrower, full of wildlife including the famous Little Manatee White Squirrels. This is an easy paddle even though it is 7 miles each way. Paddle with the incoming tide from the bay and paddle or float back with the current from the source then meet the out going current from the bay. We will be back at our cars around 4-5:30pm.
