Kew Gardens Hills with Havali Fine Indian Cuisine Hike

We meet at our alternate Queens Blvd and Union Turnpike Meeting Point. On the South West corner near the Starbucks and Chase Bank at 10:30. At 10:45 sharp

Let us Hike through Willow Lake, walk around Kew Gardens hills for 20 minutes.

Then we head back to Queens Blvd for lunch.

I need to keep the pace slightly faster.

At noon I will head toward Haveli Restaurant at[masked] Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375.

The buffet price is $12.95 plus tax. I looked at the place yesterday and it looked very attractive and modern.

 $1.00 donation requested.

My first time in that park. Loved it! Yesterday was beautiful and comfortable weather wise and I had an easy time parking, Yeah!!! Fun meeting old and new friends.

Hi Kevin, sorry about your discomfort re the Indian food. I also have a sensitive stomach but wasn't affected by any of the food and, since we both had pretty much the same thing, except you had the dessert and the goat curry and I didn't, I'm thinkin that maybe it was one of those which caused the problem-most likely the goat curry.

    • Kevin

Marty...I thought it could be the goat curry. Then I thought "Naaaaagh"! Sorry about that word/sound play.

Haha, btw, will you be attending this Saturdays 6/14 hike with Werner?

I loved the food going in. However the food caused me trouble for the rest of the day. I wish I know which spice or ingredient to remove so I could eat this food more often. The food was really good and the place is beautiful looking.

Hey Cheryl, I still think it was the jawbone of a baby croc, but it's discoverer, Isaac, thinks it's a muskrat or something similar

Pleasant and interesting walk with friendly folks. Hopefully someone will solve the mystery of the "wild animal jaw" that was spotted. The relaxing lunch afterwards was a great idea, too. Thx, Kevin!

Hey Kevin, it looks like I'll be able to join you this morning after all. I'll add myself as going, ok? Sorry for this last minute addition. Looking forward...

I may join in the group at the last minute, if that's possible, as something just came up that can't be avoided ..sorry.

Hi Kevin, they're expecting beautiful weather tomorrow, low 80's and sunny. Wondering what you mean by a " slightly faster" pace. Never having gone with you before, I don't know what your regular pace is. I assume the Q60 bus stops somewhere around there? Marty (Richie)

A week I am free with nice weather and unfortunately not a week the walk is in the park. Still sounds like a nice walk so will join though. I do like to walk around the lake. Passing on lunch.

    Kevin,
I live very close to Willow Lake. Are you going to be entering the park at the entrance on 72nd road and Grand Central Parkway? Can I meet you there?

    June 4

    • Kevin

Risa Beth, The route will be decided by the group when we gather. I am not sure what will occur.

Thanks again for answering, I would like to get some exercise. See you then!

Is the total hike time 20 minutes or just the part around town on the way to the restaurant? Thanks Kevin.

    June 2

    • Kevin

Nichole...For me, I would like to get some physical activity from Hiking, build up some appetite, and have a Great Indian Buffet. The RSVP YES count is very low for this event and I don't know why. If I got some feed back from the group I'd appreciate it.

Nichole...I forgot to write that I'd like to Walk around the area for 45 minutes to an hour. The restaurant opens at 12:00 so it would really be 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Nice walk/dining combo Kevin! Unable to attend but just wanted to share that I have eaten at Haveli several times and it's clean, affordable, hospitable with a vast array of delicious Indian food dishes. Enjoy!

Awesome! I think that I may just skip the hiking part and go straight for the Indian cuisine...Just kidding...
I am looking forward to another amazing day.

    May 23

    • Kevin

Mimi...The hike and meal are separate. Join us for either part.

  • Pat

Would it be rude if I only want to do the walk, skip the meal?

    May 26

    • Kevin

      Pat...The meal is optional.
