D&D Game Day: Vault of the Dracolich

Deep in the forest of Cormanthor lies the hoard of the dracolich Dretchroyaster, the prize of which is a diamond staff rumored to unlock the secrets of an ancient elven kingdom. The sage Imani is seeking dozens of adventurers to launch an all-out assault on the undead dragon’s lair. The dracolich is a powerful foe—too great for even several parties to conquer—so it’s going to take all of the heroes’ courage, cunning, and speed to survive the dracolich’s deadly vault.

VAULT OF THE DRACOLICH draws inspiration from the interactive format used at some gaming conventions. As part of this experience, players and DMs have the opportunity to communicate with other game tables, while the event coordinator takes on the role of the dracolich to menace each group. The D&D Vault of the Dracolich Game Day is a multi-table roleplaying event that brings communities of players together for a shared gaming experience.

Vault of the Dracolich is a D&D NEXT ADVENTURE designed for four to six 4th-level characters, in an epic quest to retrieve a magic item hidden away by a powerful dracolich. Players will be divided into multiple tables, each with their own Dungeon Master, with an event coordinator leading the action.

This Game Day will run using the latest D&D Next playtest rules available for download at dndnext.com
You can simply come learn the new rules using a pre-generated character.

From 2-3 PM we will be sorting players into tables and making sure everyone's characters are ready to go. Games start at 3 PM (or sooner if everyone is ready). It will take 3-5 hours to complete the adventure.

Thanks to everyone who participated. The event was a great success. We had 20 people in all that participated and I think they all had a good time. A special thanks to Matt Savage for taking up the reins of coordinator at the last second when it became apparent that Jason Preismeyer was going to have switch hats and run a third table. Deryk Koym also did a great job. We had to coordinate combats on several occasions and at one point he had 10 players at his table fighting their way past two ropers. Unfortunately, I was so wrapped up in the action that I forgot to take any pictures :(

Had a great time. Lots of action, near death experiences, and drama as any good RPG should have. I REALLY enjoyed the advantage/disadvantage feature. I'm normally a mediocre dice roller. This feature when used strategically, not only saved my ass, but made my character shine.

For those of you making characters, you must use the standard stat spread provided in the character creation document - no randomly generated stats for this one.
    4th level, no magic items

I RSVP'd "No", but if you need one more player to make another table happen, let me know and I'll jump in.
